Lessons have been assigned to them based on their diagnostic test results both in Math and Reading. Within each lesson are brain break games. The district is pushing a goal of 45 minutes per week on Online Lessons in ELA and 45 minutes per week in Math to close the gaps found in the diagnostic. Math and ELA are providing some of that time during the week, but not all.

WHAT ARE WE LEARNING: TinkerCAD, an easy-to-use 3D CAD design tool!
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT: Gives the user the ability to take something that's 3D and represent it in 2D. It is essential to all industries that use 3D modeling like architects, engineers and game designers!
HOW WILL MY TEACHER KNOW WHAT I LEARNED: You will complete starter lessons on TinkerCAD and soon answer questions based on what you completed!

Let's Get Started:
Click +NEW...3D Design
Hover over TOY JET and click TINKER THIS!
TIP! (before you begin!)
Check to make sure your Snap Grid is set to 0.01 mm
TIP #2! (before you continue!)
Select ALL/Ctrl + A (or drag an imaginary box arount the entire jet)...Make sure your jet is grouped!!!!
You know it is when you select everything, the inspector just reads "SHAPE"!
Choose MULTICOLOR!
Pull the Workplane tool (located on the Top right Corner) and drag it to the BACK end of the cylinder until you see the Orange Workplane box (see left). Then let go of your mouse to set the workplane
Remember if it is in the wrong place simply click the undo button (top left curved arrow) or press ctrl + z
From our shapes box, add a TUBE to the workplane
Select the solid color in the Shape Inspector box and choose dark grey
With the TUBE selected, click the bottom right WHITE HANDLE
Change the DIAMETER to 8 mm (Enter 8 in each of dimension dialog boxes)
Click ENTER on the keyboard
With the TUBE selected, click the TOP WHITE HANDLE
Enter 4 in the dimension dialog box
Click ENTER on the keyboard
Add a cone to the workplane
Change the diameter to 7 (click the bottom right white handle and enter 7 in each box)
Click Enter
Change the cone color to yellow
Select the cone AND the Tube (hold the SHIFT KEY down to select both)
Click the ALIGN tool
Click the dot in the CENTER top (or bottom) AND the CENTER Left (or right)
GROUP them together and set the color to MULTICOLOR!
Select ALL (ctrl + A) or draw an imaginary box around all objects
Click the ALIGN tool (on the top right corner...it looks like a line with 2 boxes)
Click the dot in the CENTER near the BOTTOM of the jet
NOTE: ONLY align to the BOTTOM CENTER!
Deselect all by clicking on the workplane
Rotate the workplace to see the rear of the plane
Select just the tube/cone
With the UP arrow key nudge the tube up to center it on the back of the jet!
Click the workplane tool and drag it to any white space to reset
Select ALL (ctrl + A) or draw an imaginary box around all objects
Click the GROUP button (on the Top right, it looks like a square and circle combined)
Set the color to MULTICOLOR!
Add a HALF SPHERE to the workplane
Change the height to 4 (top WHITE handle)
Enter 4
Click ENTER on the keyboard
Change the width to 9mm (click the RIGHT BLACK handle)
Enter 9 in the width box
Click ENTER on the keyboard
Select the half sphere
In the Shape inspection dialog box, click the solid color and change to LIGHT GRAY
Click TRANSPARENT
Click ENTER on the keyboard
Select the half sphere
Pull up on the Black Cone
Enter 8 in the box
Click ENTER on the keyboard
Select ALL (ctrl + A) or draw an imaginary box around all objects
Click the dot in the CENTER near the Bottom/Front of the Jet
Deselect the objects by simply click anywhere on the workplane
Select ONLY the half sphere
Using the UP arrow on the keyboard, nudge the half sphere back a bit on the jet
NOTE: DO NOT GROUP THE CANOPY TO THE JET!!! It will lose transparency.
WAIT!
Add your name to the workplane!
Click on the TEXT tool on the right and drag over onto the workplane
Press the HOME (house) VIEW BUTTON to set the workplane so your teacher can see the entire workplane!
Now it is time to get Creative! Create a movie scene!
Creative Movie Background: 10 point (part 3)
Sign -in : 10 points
Exit Ticket: 5 point
Signing into the correct class: 5 points (this is IMPORTANT!!!)
Toy Jet: 60 Points (Make sure your name is on the Workplane!)
Exit Ticket 5 Points (Don't Forget)
Review
Using your mouse, RIGHT click and pull to the left to view the toy jet from the back like shown (left)
Click anywhere in the blue workplane to deselect.
Select the Tail
Hold down the ALT key (next to the space bar) on the keyboard and click and pull the tail to the left.
This will make a copy of the tail
Tip: hover over the curved arrow on the top of the tail. Carefully click and pull to rotate. Once begun you can enter the degrees in the dialog box and click enter on your keyboard
Press 'D' on your keyboard to drop the "wing" to the workplane
Use the UP arrow key to nudge the wing forward on the jet (use your best judgement to placement)
Click one of the white handles on the wing and change he lengthwise dimension dialog box to 40 and the width dimension dialog box to 24 then click enter on your keyboard.

Select the body (the grouped cylinder and cone) and click the Hide Selection button
(located to the top right in the inspector box, it looks like a lightbulb)
Now we should only see the Tail and one wing!
Select the wing
Hold down the ALT key (next to the space bar) on the keyboard and click and pull the tail to the RIGHT.
This will make a copy of the wing
With the new wing selected, click the MIRROR tool (top right toolbar, it looks like 2 triangles with a line in-between)
Hover over the lines to decide which arrow to click to mirror!
Align the wings...
elect BOTH wings (hold the SHIFT Key to select both) or draw an imaginary box around both wings (NOT the tail)
Click the ALIGN tool (on the top right corner...it looks like a line with 2 boxes)
Click the dot in the TOP LEFT to align
Pull the Workplane tool (located on the Top right Corner ir press W on your keyboard!) and drag it to the INSIDE end of the right wing until you see the Orange Workplane box (see left). Then let go of your mouse or click to set the workplane
Remember if it is in the wrong place simply click the undo button (top left curved arrow) or press ctrl + z
Select the LEFT wing.
Press 'D' on your keyboard to drop the "wing" to the workplane. The wing should now touch the other wing!
SELECT BOTH WINGS AND CLICK THE GROUP TOOL
Click the Show All button (top right toolbar, looks like a lightbulb) or press Ctrl+Shift+H
Tip: Click the workplane tool and drag it to any white space to reset
Tip: hover over the curved arrow on the top of the tail. Carefully click and pull to rotate. Once begun you can enter the degrees in the dialog box and click enter on your keyboard
Select ALL (ctrl + A) or draw an imaginary box around all objects

GROUP EVERYTHING!!
Tip: Draw an imaginary box around the objects or click ctrl + A on you key board (select All)
Click the GROUP Icon at the top (Multicolor will automatically apply!)
Files should automatically save!

Change your Snap Grid to 0.25 mm
Add a Cylinder (Orange cylinder on the right in the Basic Shapes pallet) to the Work Plane
Tip: Click the TOP white HANDLE and type the number 70 in the dimension dialog box and click enter on your keyboard
Tip: Click the BOTTOM RIGHT white handle on the cylinder and change BOTH dimension dialog boxes to 10 and click enter on your keyboard
Tip: hover over the curved arrow on the top of the cylinder.
When the "compass" lines appear, carefully click and the dimension dialog box will stay.
Enter the 90 in the dialog box and click enter on your keyboard
(The cylinder should rotate 90 degrees)
With the Cylinder still selected, press 'D' on your keyboard to drop the object to the workplane
TIP: With the object selected, click 'D' on the keyboard to DROP the object level with the workplane
Object will drop up or down...but always be level with the workplane!
THIS WILL COME IN HANDY!
Tip: Pull the Workplane tool (located on the Top right Corner)
or click W on your keyboard!
Drag the workplane to the end of the cylinder until you see the Orange Workplane box (see left...it should be vertical now!). Then click to set the workplane
Remember if it is in the wrong place simply click the undo button (top left curved arrow) or press ctrl + z
Tip: With the workplane vertically aligned with the end of the cylinder, the cone should be in the correct direction!
Click the bottom, right white handle and enter 10 in each box!
Tip: Select both the cone and the cylinder by holding the shift key down and click on each shape OR drag an imaginary box around both shapes!
Click the ALIGN tool (on the top right corner...it looks like a line with 2 boxes)
Click the center dot on the right side, then the center dot on the bottom to align completely,
Tip: Click the workplane tool or press W on your keyboard
Drag it to any white space to reset
The workplane should now be BLUE!
Tip: Draw an imaginary box around the objects or click ctrl + A on you key board (select All)
Click the GROUP button (on the Top right, it looks like a square and circle combined)
Select MULTICOLOR if you would like to retain the colors
Remember to deselect an object of group, simply click anywhere on the workplane
Creating the TAIL!
Tip: Make sure ALL is clicked
Also...you might have to click MORE SHAPES multiple times to find it!
Review :
Scroll down and hover over objects until you find it!
Click the bottom right rounded double arrow and enter 90 in the box
Click enter on your keyboard
The Swept NACA should be parallel to the cylinder
Tip: Click the bottom right, white handle on the swept Naca and change the width dimension dialog box to 19 and the length (on the right) dimension dialog box to 4 then click enter on your keyboard.
With the Tail (swept Naca) selected, click the black cone/triangle which hovers on the top of the tail and pull up, then enter 9.75 in the dimension dialog box (located to the bottom right) then click enter on your keyboard.
Select ALL (ctrl + A) or draw an imaginary box around all objects
Click the ALIGN tool (on the top right corner...it looks like a line with 2 boxes)
Click the dot in the CENTER near the front of the cone
This should align the Tail to the CENTER of the jet
With everything still selected and Align tool still active, click the dot on the bottom right corner (see image left)
This should align the Tail to the back of the jet
DO NOT GROUP THE TAIL TO THE BODY!!!
Files should automatically save!
